Here's what's new with Mia. She...
- Loves looking at her hands. She just discovered her feet, so she enjoys showing off her yoga poses and extreme flexibility.
- Has become a drooler (as evidenced by the huge drool spot on her shirt in the photo above which I didn't realized until now). Dylan was a drooler until two, so we'll see whether she shares the same trait. If so, she'll be wearing bibs all day for the next year and a half.
- Prefers mom when drinking from the bottle. So we finally got Mia to take a bottle during the day...well kind of. She has been refusing to take a bottle from anyone else but me. She even fusses with Devin - but at least not as bad as when daycare feeds her. I'm sure that desperation will set in and she'll realize that she can't be a "bottle snob".
- Becoming much more aware of her surroundings...including her brother. While I'm sure that she'll come to adore and look up to him one day, right now the jury is out. Most days she seems to be a little cautious about what's coming next with Dylan - loud noises, unpredictable hugs/kisses, toys in the face, etc. Just the other day, she was playing in her exersaucer and Dylan joined in on the exact toy she had been using. She got a little frustrated. Oh dear, the fighting for toys has already begun (as also illustrated in photo below - tears surfaced when Dylan took the dog. Well, technically it is Dylan's but she had it first that night).
- Has crazy hair. She's started losing some on the top and is now thinning in the back due to tossing and turning during sleep. All the while, her hair on the side is growing. I need a solution for how to control it :). Should we cut it?
- Isn't as easily entertained by the toys Dylan enjoyed at this age. She would much rather be talking to you or observing people/kids. Ah, a true girl - social. Although she is a huge fan of books like her brother.
