A first for everything

Mia's experienced a lot of firsts in the last two weeks. Some good, some not so good. Let's start with the good.
  • Christmas
  • New Year's celebration
  • Rolled over from tummy to back
  • Solid food (apple sauce which our pediatrician recommended to help with calorie intake and help weigh down the milk for reflux. Cereal would've worked too, but she gagged too much. so we're going straight for the good stuff)
  • 3 1/2 hour nap

Now for the not so good firsts...

  • Losing her hair. Her thick cradle cap is almost gone after repeated rounds of baby oil, shampoos and gentle scrubbing. As the cradle cap flaked off, so did her hair. As you can tell from photos below, she had hair to spare and still has plenty of it.
  • Visit to radiology for swallowing barium xray
  • Respiratory cold that her loving brother shared with her. A visit to the doctor turned into a second visit to radiology in three days, but this time for a chest xray to test for fluid in the lungs. We also returned home with a nebulizer in hand which we are still using for her cough and wheezing.
  • Solid food. Yes this is a repeat from above as I'm sure Mia would have put it in the 'bad' category. We didn't give her more than three scoops before calling it quits. Proof in photos below.

Here's to 2010 - a new decade and new year. Hoping for a fresh start and a healthier year ahead for our little girl.
