Devin started his own business right out of school and built it into what is known today as Advanced Method. Two years ago, it was acquired by Eiki International in hopes that AM would help them branch into a new industry - digital media. As with anything, everything has an end and for Devin it arrived this year. While the company is still operational, he made a decision to leave AM and join The City. Devin was ready for the move, but I'm sure in many ways the departure is bittersweet.
The move to The City is drastic in many respects. He's going from managing a company to being a part of a company. Wearing multiple hats to focusing on product development. Developing and managing people to learning and being coached. More flexible work arrangements to a bit more structure. A commute time from 20-25mins to 45-60 minutes. We're two days into the new routine and are finding that daycare drop off/pick up is challenging when we're both doing an equally long commute.
I'm so happy to Devin and this new beginning.
