I'm proud to report that Mia's first word is "mama". We're working with her to say papa, but it's not coming out as easily. Since we've been letting her fuss it out when she wakes up in the middle of the night, it's been tough to resist going in her room when she repeatedly chants "mama".
Mia loves food! So much so that she gets very excited when she sees you preparing it. We'll have to work on teh talking when eating habit. I've been introducing new fruits and veggies and have yet to find one that she hates. Carrots, avocado, sweet potatoes, pears, apples and mango have been winners so far. She's also become a snacking fan of Gerber Graduate stars and wheels. I hope that her love for solids will transfer to table food as well.
Her binky is a close runner up to food. It's a good form of entertainment when we're out and about - she's been practicing how to fit the whole binky in her mouth. The binky is also a curse which we knew from the beginning. Since it was the only way we could get her to sleep soundly, she's become fairly reliant on it. When she wakes up at night, she fusses for it - a problem when she can't crawl and roll to search for it. It's pretty sad when you catch your baby trying to stretch their neck and lips in order to get the binky that is resting right next to their head.
