Trick Or Treating 2009

I knew last year was the last time that I'd be able to select Dylan's Halloween costume - that is if I wanted him to at least like the costume and wear it. So, this year I allowed him to pick one out. Ok, I have to admit - he didn't have complete, free reign - I gave him a few limited options to chose from. For a while he had been wavering between Elmo and a fire fighter. In the end, Elmo won.

For Mia, there was only a monkey and duck costume to chose from - so we went with the monkey. Spending $35 for about 10 minutes of pictures (since she had to go to bed afterwards) wasn't quite worth it. Oh well.

Since September, we had been reading to Dylan the Dora's Halloween book which talks about her adventure to find Boot's missing bag of candy. Dora and her friends have to go through a pumpkin patch, spooky forest and the haunted house in order to find the candy. So, right before we went trick-o-treating on Saturday, Dylan asked whether we were going to the pumpkin patch and spooky forest. It was pretty cute.

We managed to get to six or so houses before Dylan had enough of the Halloween madness. I'm sure things will change once he's introduced to candy.
