Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas! Here's a video taken earlier in the week of me trying to get Dylan to wish folks a Merry Christmas. He was watching Charlie Brown's Christmas (hence his reference to "Brown") so he was a bit distracted. However, I think that you might be able to hear a few recognizable holiday words.

Our Christmas day started bright and early at 6:15am when Dylan woke up unusually early. He was adamant about going downstairs - did he really comprehend what we had told him the evening before (that Santa would be visit when he's sleeping and deliver presents)? Unsure, but he definitely knew something was different that morning. We first took him to open presents at the stocking, but he was convinced that he wanted to jump right into the gifts under the tree. Devin and I had a great time watching his reaction to his new toys.

Later, we celebrated on Mercer Island when again Dylan was spoiled with gifts. With all the excitement and fun that Dylan had that day, I thought that for sure he'd be ready for an early bedtime. Nope, he had enough adrenaline to keep him up until 10:30pm. Here are a few shots from Dylan's 2nd Christmas.

Next year, we hope to start a new tradition that will help Dylan appreciate the true meaning of Christmas and learn the joy of giving.

We trust that everyone had an equally special and joyous Chistmas as we did!
