Mia - 5 months

I'm several weeks behind in posting this edition celebrating Mia's five month birthday. We won't visit Dr. Shorr again until March (assuming that Mia stays healthy), so I don't have stats beyond weight. As of her latest therapy visit, she's weighing in at a solid 15 lbs 4 oz (70th percentile).
What's new with Mia?

  • Food: Can't get enough cereal - especially Earth's Best oatmeal blend with bananas. She's taking well to banana, but still fusses with apples and pears. We love her excitement level and "ummmm" noises she makes when she's enjoying her meal.
  • Health: I think that there's only been a week or so in January and February when Mia's been healthy. She's has three colds since New Years - all of them accompanied by wheezing and a cough. We think that it's most likely because she's around other kids that have colds at daycare. Should she get another one soon, we may be exploring whether she's in fact aspirating.
  • Teeth? Everything lately has been going in Mia's mouth which makes me wonder whether teeth are right around the corner. No binky? Toes are just fine apparently. She seems to enjoy knawing on her toes and showing off her flexibility when getting her diaper changed.
  • Daycare: She's doing really well at daycare. She's managed to adjust easier than Dylan did. She loves the teachers and gives them wet kisses and hugs. Quite cute.
  • Sleep: Ironically, our no-napper baby sleeps 6-7 hours at daycare. We pretty much pay Kindercare for Mia to get her zzzz's. Getting her down for the evening has also gotten easy. We swaddle her up, give her a binky, turn on the crib toy, close the door and voila! She's usually out within a few minutes. How did we go from screaming until 1am at 6 weeks to zero tears at 5 months?

Waking up in the morning with some crazy hair...
