Best Buds

Dylan's daycare was closed on Monday in observance of President's Day. (NOTE: This year we actually remembered the holiday and didn't try dropping him off at a closed daycare center. That was one of the most humiliating parenting moments for me.) Since Devin and I couldn't take time off from work, Dylan was fortunate to spend the entire day with Grandma and Grandpa Imamura, Auntie Judy, Uncle Derrik and Cousin Payton. He had such a great time playing with Payton - especially at the Bellevue Square indoor playground. From what we've heard, Payton was very protective and nurturing of Dylan and ensured that he was safe while playing. All Dylan could talk about the next day was his time with Payton - words frequently used were "Payton", "play", "happy" and "boat".

An interesting fact is that Cousin Payton is 9 years older than Dylan. Uncle Derrik (Payton's dad and Devin's cousin), and Devin share the same age difference. Despite the age gap, Devin and Derrik are close and great friends. Here's hoping that Payton and Dylan will share the same bond. Ok, that's sappy...let's move on :).
