ONE!

Mia turned ONE....two months ago. I felt like the first year with Mia went much quicker than Dylan's - which is very sad. She is a true blessing and weWith the craziness of work, I didn't have any time to coordinate a big birthday party for our little girl. I feel bad and will probably carry the guilt forever. In order to make up for it, we celebrated her birthday twice. We had an intimate dinner with some family on her real birthday (August 29) and a brunch with extended family earlier this month.
Both occasions were very special - although I think that the experience at her birthday brunch will remain engraved in my memory. Mia came home sick with a 103.7 fever on Friday - two days before the party. So on Saturday night, she did more screaming than sleeping. With only a few consecutive hours of sleep, we headed out to Palisades for what was supposed to be a relaxing brunch. Instead, we were catching food Mia was flinging around, apologizing to the wait staff for the mess on the floor, and trying to occupy her while entertaining guests. One overtired and sick child + two sleep deprived parents = challenging experience. That said, we still managed to enjoy the occasion and our little baby.
