I teased you with a former post about Disneyland, but didn't reveal any photos of our vacation. So without further adieu, here are a few images that captures the amazing 4-day experience at Disney.
Mia was 18 months on this trip, which Devin and I were a bit nervous about. The last time we flew with a 1.5 year-old was to Hawaii with Dylan and it turned out to be the longest plane ride in history (and didn't help that three from our party of five were sick with stomach flu). Mia did surprisingly well on the flight and renewed our hope for flying with little ones. Plenty of snacks, books, stickers, toys, singing and one binky later, we arrived at our destination...Disney!
Dylan's reaction to Mickey was similar to what he does with dogs. He's very excited talking about it or seeing dogs from a distance; when you get too close he freaks out. It was only after seeing Minnie Mouse did he start to warm up to the characters. Not sure what affect Minnie had on him :). Mia on the other hand didn't want anything to do with the characters and as you will see in the family photo with Mickey below, she couldn't even stand looking at Mickey (hiding her face in the stroller). For those planning on going to Disneyland, I highly recommend getting an autograph book. Dylan loved getting the characters to sign his book and to this day serves as the best keepsake from the trip (Note: I wouldn't recommend buying the photos from Disney as they are quite pricey).
With our 4-day passes, we also had the opportunity to visit California Adventure and took the Color of Wonder (the spectacular water/light show), Bug's Life attraction (targeted towards toddlers...think very slow-moving rides...not enough adventure and thrill for Mia), Aladdin show, and Dylan's favorite Midtown Mania (Toy Story ride). All in all, we had a blast and the kids can't wait to go again soon. I think that we'll wait for another 1-2 years once California Adventure is finished with renovations.
